Tuesday is the day

When I went in on Thursday to get checked, the doctor really did not like what he saw.  There was almost nothing to measure on my uterine window...kind of scary.  I am actually surprised he didn't send me to the hospital to be monitored.  I think he took pity on us because of the four kids at home!  Tuesday I will hit 32 weeks so Tuesday evening we will be delivering Austin.  I am praying that his lungs are developed and that he has no health problems.  I am praying that we are only in the NICU waiting for him to learn how to eat.  I am really praying we only have 3 weeks in the NICU, not a month or two.  I am really praying for this kid!  I already love him so much and so does the rest of the family and we do not want to be apart from him for very long.  Having a baby in the NICU is extremely emotional and hard...especially when you have other children at home needing attention too.  I wish I could spend all day everyday at the hospital taking care of Austin but also know his brothers and sisters need me too so I will have to deal with only having a few hours a day with him.

Week 30

At the appointment on Thursday, Austin is still looking good.  There is no sign of him being under stress which is a good thing!  The placenta is not anywhere near where my window is which is also a good thing!  The not so good thing is that my window was looking a little thinner than it did during week 29.  When we go in this Thursday, we will be deciding between two things: keep going forward like we are with me at home and twice a week monitoring or, I get admitted to the hospital for 24 hour monitoring until I hit 32 weeks and then we deliver.  I will be 32 weeks on Oct 8.  Our hope and prayer is that we can keep doing what we are doing and make it to 34 weeks which is Oct 22 because 34 weeks is a huge milestone for Austin.  Our doctor does not want to deliver before 32 weeks because it makes a big difference for Austin and any extra day we get after that is a big blessing.  I will not go a day over 34 weeks so we do know when the end will for sure be here.  My hope is that we can make it to 34 weeks with no NICU stay but ultimately I just want Austin and I to be safe and healthy.

Austin is Anxious

After my appointment yesterday it would appear that baby Austin is anxious to join our family.  I am 29 weeks and am hoping I can hang on 3-5 more weeks.  My window is opening up again like it did with Ben...just a lot earlier than it did with Ben.  I will now do twice a week monitoring to make sure Austin is still doing okay and once a week measurements through ultrasound to see how my body is holding together.  Every week we keep him in is a huge miracle for both him and me.  We just want a healthy baby and are extremely thankful I have the best doctor in Vegas to help get us to that point!  I will post more updates as we get them,

It's a BOY!

In case you haven't heard, we are having another boy!  We are all pretty excited about it and can't wait to meet him in a couple months. We got to see him in 4D which was interesting but fun!  I would post the picture but I am on the iPad and not using the app so it won't let me add a new picture.  We are going to name him Austin James Nichols.

We hit 20 weeks officially tomorrow...for most people that means the pregnancy is half over.  I guess I am special because I hit my half way a couple weeks ago!  We are hoping to make it to 36 weeks so we can avoid another NICU stay but there is a good chance he will come earlier.  We are planning on an October baby instead of a December baby.  We will do whatever it takes to keep us both safe and alive!

Easter

We spent part of Easter Weekend in St. George with Grandma, Grandpa, and a few cousins!  These are the only two pictures that will load right now...maybe I will add more later.

Soccer

Josh finished his first soccer season a couple weeks ago!  I am not sure he loved it but he seemed to have fun and he was usually close to the ball...he just never wanted to kick the ball.  He would hold it between his feet!!
