My Poor Baby

Little Joshua is going to be four months old on Thursday!! He has had a rough four months. He got his first cold at one month, followed by an ear infection and cold three weeks later. The latest is the flu. Yes, he tested positive for the nasty influenza virus at the doctor's office on Wednesday. He sounds horrible. He has a really bad cough and is all stuffed up. I feel really bad for him because there is really nothing that can be done because he is too young. He has looked so sick all week and has this hoarse little cry and voice. It has been so sad but he is starting to be happy and smiley again.

The good news is that his fever has been gone for 24 hours so I hope this means we are almost in the clear. He really has to get better because he goes in for his pre-op appointment on Monday for his surgery that is scheduled for Friday. I need this surgery to happen on Friday. I am sick of having it hanging over my head and want to get it done and over with! I hope and pray that he will be 100% better by Monday morning so we can get cleared for surgery.

My Phone

I have a lot of people tell me that my phone is always busy. Well, I do know that it is busy a lot but it isn't because I talk on the phone a lot. We still have a dinosaur called dial-up internet! I do spend some time on the internet during the day but I also use the internet to make my phone busy. Josh will take naps in my bedroom on a daily basis and I don't want the phone to wake him up. My solution...connect to the internet and leave it there so that nobody can get through! I think it is a great solution but those of you who try to get in contact with us might not like that idea! Sorry...I think my baby's sleep is a little more important than most phone calls I get! We also have a problem because sometimes I disconnect the internet but for some reason the computer doesn't and I don't realize this until I try to make a phone call. Bottom line is if you really need to get in contact with me and the home phone is busy...call my cell phone!!!

The Chain of Love

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations: 1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make for you! 2. What I create will be just for you. 3. It'll be done this year. 4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a song. It may be a self portrait or maybe even some creation I haven't yet dreamed up. I may draw. I may bake you something and mail it to you. It may not be big or impressive. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! But lets be honest here. This is me and I will likely do something amazing. =) So come on, sign up! 5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to post this same blog on their blog and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Let's keep the chain of love going around!!

Sick...AGAIN

Andrea seems to be our child that is always sick...and she is...again! She has had a fever of around 103 since Thursday night. Trying to give her medicine used to be easy, she would just swallow. Now, it is a major event with two adults wrestling her and trying to get her to swallow. I have a feeling we will be back at the doctor on Monday! We were there on Thursday at a well check for Josh (he is 16 pounds 8 ounces!) and I had them check her ears and throat but she was okay. I am thinking since the temperature went up a degree on Thursday night and has been there ever since that she is really sick now. I get sick of going to the doctor! Someone needs to invent something that will tell you when your child is sick enough to require doctor's care and when you should just keep them happy at home!!! I have a feeling it is going to be another long night so I better get a couple hours sleep while I can.

My Little Princesses

I think I have added lots of pictures of Josh so I thought I should add one of the girls. Sammy and Andrea are definitely my little princesses. Andrea insisted on being called Cinderella tonight. Everytime you would say Andrea she would say "I'm Cinderella." I had to dance around the house with her so she could dance just like Cinderella! Sammy informed me today that for Halloween she is going to be Princess Sammy. We'll see how that one goes. I am curious to see how Princess Sammy would dress!!

My Little Man

Here are the newest pictures of my little guy. He looked so cute (or handsome as Jeff would say) in his polo shirt his cousins, McKinley and Denali, gave him for Christmas! Josh is actually a little cranky the last two days because he is teething. I think the teeth are just about ready to pop out. And, yes he is getting teeth at 3 months old!

Isn't he the cutest baby in the world???

Making Hair Bows

I tried out two new ways of making hair bows last night. Jeff's mom was here so I was showing her how to make one so she can show Wendy (my sister-in-law). I found two really quick way to make bows that made me really excited. The way I had been doing bows took a long time and made my fingers sore from pulling the wire so tight. I can make one of these new pinwheel bows in under five minutes!! I think we are going to have a bow explosion at our house! I also made a loopy bow for the first time. I was excited with how well they turned out. I am definitely going to be making more of those in the next couple days. I think I have finally found the motivation I needed to use all the ribbon I have been stocking up on!! With two girls, I knew I would one day be making bows!

This is a double pinwheel bow I made to go with Sammy's new outfit from her Grandma Lauretta.
These are our "Minnie Mouse" bows to wear to Disneyland!

These are the loopy bows!

Disneyland Bribe

Last night for family night we had a talk (AGAIN) about doing jobs and helping out around the house. This time we have a little incentive for the kids. We are trying to figure everything out so that we can go to Disneyland at the end of March. I can get in free on my birthday so we are going to go then. Back to Family Night, we made a HUGE paper chain (about 150 chains) that the girls have to get rid of in order to go to Disneyland. If they want to get rid of a chain, they have to do a job. Today, Sammy got to get rid of two chains and Andrea only did one! Not a great day but we are trying. We'll see if it all works.

Life with Three Kids

For three months now we have been a family of five. Life with three kids can be a little more crazy (at least for me). Tonight, for example, we took the kids to Olive Garden because they love to eat there and we haven't been in a few months. All was okay until Josh decided he was tired and hungry and then Andrea decided she wanted me to hold her too. To make things a little more interesting, Sammy decided she wanted to hang on my shoulder too!! Lucky me! At least Jeff got to eat his meal in peace. I don't think we will be venturing to any sit down restaurant as a family any time soon! Andrea has also really started to act like a two-year-old. She is lots more defiant and physical. She has started hitting to try to get her way which is really hard. I really want my sweet little Andrea back! I guess I should be happy with 50%...she is still little!! Bottom line is that life with three kids is harder, more hectic, and a lot harder to meet all three kids needs at the same time. However, I would not trade it for anything. I love my kids and think the world of them!! I know that as they get older things will get a little easier...I just have to survive day by day for now. :)
