Allergy Testing

Ben had an allergy test done today. Because he has a small back we were only able to test for 30 things. Of the tests we did, Ben only showed a slight reaction to beef and cow's milk. I can still try giving him those things but we need to watch him to see if he has a reaction when he eats those.

Today was a rough day. Ben was a little off today which means I am a little off which means the family is a little off. I think it is a combination of teething and learning something new. With my babies it seems that when they learn something new they fall a little backward in another area. Ben is learning to crawl and we finally have him scooting backward. Ben's development has been more closely following his adjusted age rather than is actual age. When a baby is born early, the adjusted age is their age from the due date not the birth date. At times I freak out and worry because Ben is 10 1/2 months and not crawling but at the same time I have to remember Ben is his own person and he has done everything in his own time. He is completely different from his brother and sisters and has done all the milestones at different times, even when you factor in his adjusted age. I love Ben and am so thankful that my Heavenly Father trusted me with raising him here on earth.

Friday!

We made it through our first week of daily jobs! Yes, I started it last summer too but I was too tired to keep up with it and be strict about it. The kids have done great at the jobs and try to get through them quickly. The trick is that we have job dots everyday that are different. Each of us have a jar so if we do a job we get the dot in our jar...more dots equals more allowance so there is motivation to do your stuff and not let your sibling get your dots! So far it is working. Today was bathroom day!

Josh LOVES to clean the mirrors.  He kept wiping his hands on the mirror so he could do it again!

While the Girls are Away

Sammy and Andrea went to their friends house today so the boys did a little swimming. Ben loved it as long as he was standing because the water was so cold!! Josh just loves to swim!

Having the pool to himself has some advantages!

Homework Joshua Style

Josh has been practicing his name along with his favorite Rescue Bots.

Josh traced his name for school work today.

We also had to trace Boulder, Chase, Heatwave, and Blades.  In case you don't know, those are the name of the Transformers Rescue Bots.

Cleaning

Every morning before the playing begins we have to finish all the jobs on our chart.

Ben supervised all the cleaning from the truck.  He loves to sit in this truck and try to drive it!

Kindergarten Graduation

Andrea is finished with Kindergarten!  She is sad to leave kindergarten and her amazing teacher but she is excited to be in school all day next year.  She told me today that she wouldn't have to clean as much when she is in school all day!!!  I just laughed!  Andrea had a tough year and there were many tears but she found a best friend and everything became tolerable.  I am so thankful she had a good teacher that helped us out when Andrea was struggling.  I also pray she is not in the same class next year as the bully that picked on her all year long!!

Graduation Program

5K

Our ward (church group) sponsored a 5K today to collect shoes for project sole.  The fee to enter was a pair of tennis shoes.  Sammy did the most as she completed about a 4K, Josh did 1.5K and Andrea did 1K!!!  Andrea probably would have kept going but she got ahead of Ben and me so she stopped at the start/finish line after the first lap and didn't want to keep going.  Sammy loved it so I have a feeling we will be doing the 5K on Pioneer Days that our church sponsors!
